History Movie Data Time: Period: Israel's History, Abraham's Days Place: Near East, Israel Reference Book: The Bible (Here's my favorite version from Amazon) Notable Characters: Movie Details Film Director: Robert Aldrich MPAA Rating: Length: 154 Minutes Genres: Starring: Stewart Granger, Stanley Baker and Pier Angeli - It attempted to depict the sin and perversion of the two worst cities during Abraham's day. Lot, his nephew and his family, decided to move into the city and mingle with the locals. This is about the only historical accuracy in the movie, and from here on everything else is portrayed as perversion, the kind of perversion that was unseen and unheard of in the 50's. This lead to the restriction of the film to some extent. In our day, of course, you can find as much lustful perversion in 'family shows' and even 'children's shows' like Family Guy and others. The notion of homosexuality and incest are only hinted at in this film, but one can only imagine what it must have been like in that day. Rest of review coming soon.
